I recently updated my interactive Caltrain schedule visualization with the latest schedule information.

For more information about the design of this visualization, I would point you at my original post, but visualizing the Caltrain schedule in this way seems to be a popular topic and Alex Gude has published his own version (and a later update) that includes with a great summary of the history of this style of visualization, as well as the code he used to generate it.

If you’re interested in working with the source transit data, note that Caltrain no longer distributes their raw schedule data directly from their developer site, but 511.org has an Open Transit Data portal that provides access to all Bay Area transit agencies’ General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) data, and I was also able to find the latest open transit data for Caltrain at transitfeeds.com.
